The SMR Days Road Trip

It’s been a long time coming. This summer, to celebrate the launch of our new collection, we’re taking SMR Days back where it was meant to be: on the road.

It’s called the SMR Road Trip, a journey across continents to the places and people that have inspired us since the very beginning. With travel on the horizon once again, we want to remember how it felt to be away from home – all those neverending summer days, the fresh blue skies and sun-drenched shores, that feeling of setting off from one place and ending up in another. And we want you to remember it too.

The SMR Days Road Trip coincides with the launch of our Summer 2021 collection, the first pieces available now and the rest arriving throughout the summer in hand-curated edits. The collection evolves the easy, warm-weather mainstays at the heart of the label – laid-back shirts and shorts, relaxed suiting, lightweight workwear jackets and silk trousers – melding global inspirations with traditional Indian craft and rich, tactile fabrications.

Our latest arrivals capture the freedom and colour of summer’s warmest days. Silk is central, from our pistachio and blue Paloma shirt – crafted from zig-zag motif silk, block-printed using a centuries-old Indian craft technique called ajrak – to effortlessly lightweight sets in painterly ivory and black tie-dye, a fresh take on printed silk.

Other pieces capture the feeling of getting away from it all, named for some of our favourite beaches in the world. The Tulum shirt is our take on the classic grandad shirt – with unique break-stitch detailing along the placket and across the shoulders – cut from soft purple and green striped cotton and made for laid-back days. Our Malibu trousers, in zig-zag silk or sustainable bamboo flax, encapsulate our laid-back approach to dressing, with a wide-leg and relaxed fit.

We designed everything in the collection to be easily mixed and matched, to be packed away and worn wherever you find yourself in the coming months – whether this is the summer which takes you on the open road or not. 

The SMR Days Road Trip itself will take in the places most special to our founders Adam Shapiro, Dan May and Gautam Rajani – from Morocco to America’s Atlantic Coast – a chance to take a new collection to the places they always imagined it to be worn. In this spirit, alongside exclusive content created with some of their favourite image-makers, they’ll be hosting IRL pop-ups in London, Ibiza, Provincetown, USA and Mykonos, Greece.
